So I'm in Indonesia for the first time since 2005 and I don't know what to say about it too much - Its gotten more expensive.. I remember paying 35,000rp a night at suka beach inn back in '05 now its upto 90,000rp a night. A night out on the beer woulda never cost me over 300,000 rupiah before..but now im now smashing 5 or 600,000 - which is same as home prices! Theres a bunch of new clubs I like - Sky Garden is the main one.. its pretty sweat.. always loads of drink offers and shit going on and not as trashy as the brothel that is the bounty, I also like the fact that someone (musta) done something about all the children beggars that used to be in the street at 4am.. that was tidak bagus!
I'm now on Gili Trawangan, a beautiful island just off Lombok, its a nice break from the madness of Kuta, and because I'm only here for 4 nights I've splashed out (a whole 16 quid!)and got a nice room with AC, hot water and the internet..which im typing this from now! Today i went to the beach and tried some snorkling took a couple of photos but both the masks i hired leaked so i got pissed off and gave up. As for using my Canon 1000d for photos- like I planned! I've been slack as hell.. will get it together and get some soon, really wanna get a lightning storm on picture. Maybe tomorrow! Who knows! As much as I like this place, in a weird way I miss Kuta already, I know all the real "travellers" hate it but I think alot of their attitudes are snobbish kinda like those people in that movie 'the beach' when they're on a rice run to Koh Pha Ngan looking down on other holiday makers having some drunken fun... I dunno haha, me? Ok, I HATE KUTA but at the same time i FUCKING LOVE IT!haha!!! Peace- (photos soon) Xx
